The AD844 is a high speed monolithic operational amplifier manufactured using Analog Devices' junction isolation complementary Bipolar (CB) process. 8 pin PDIP (N) is provided. The AD844S has a military temperature range of −55°C to +125°C. It comes in an 8-pin CERDIP (Q) package. A and S class chips and devices.

It combines high bandwidth and very fast large signal response with excellent DC performance. Although optimized for current-voltage applications and as an inverter mode amplifier, it is also suitable for many non-inverter applications. The AD844 can be used to replace traditional operational amplifiers, but its current feedback architecture results in better AC performance, high linearity and exceptionally clean impulse response.

The closed-loop bandwidth provided by this type of op amp is largely determined by the feedback resistance and is almost independent of the closed-loop gain. The AD844 is not subject to the conversion rate limitations inherent in conventional op-amps and other current-feedback op-amps. At the full 20v output step, the peak output change rate can exceed 2000v /μs. Settling times typically range from 100 ns to 0.1% and are largely independent of gain. The AD844 can drive 50 Ω loads ± 2.5V with low distortion and short circuit protection up to 80 mA.

The AD844 is available in four performance levels and three package options. The AD844J has a commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C in a 16-pin SOIC (RW) package. The AD844A and AD844B are suitable for industrial temperature ranges from −40°C to +85°C and are available in CERDIP (Q) packages

Product highlights

1)The AD844 is a versatile, low-cost component that provides an excellent combination of AC and DC performance.

2) It is basically free from conversion rate restrictions. The timing of rises and falls is largely independent of the level of output.

3) The AD844 can operate in the power range from ± 4.5V to ± 18V and is capable of driving loads as low as 50Ω, as well as very large capacitive loads using external networks.

4)The bias voltage and input bias current of AD844 are trimmed by laser to minimize DC errors; The VOS drift is generally 1 μV/°C, and the bias current drift is generally 9 nA/°C.

5)AD844 has excellent differential gain and differential phase characteristics, making it suitable for various video applications with bandwidths up to 60 MHz.

6)The AD844 combines low distortion, low noise, low drift, and wide bandwidth, making it an excellent flash adc input amplifier.
