Rohde & Schwarz's test solution ensures optimization of all aspects of vehicle connectivity and speeds the process of C-V2X from the lab to the proving ground and deployment. Comprehensive C-V2X and automotive 5G testing is critical for chipset developers, NAD module manufacturers, TCU suppliers, vehicle manufacturers and certification bodies to provide positive end-user experiences and high performance for targeted applications.

The company offers high-performance 5G vehicle measurements, including comprehensive test coverage including RF, protocol and application testing, using its new R&S CMX500 single-box tester that covers the full development cycle of the vehicle from chipset to TCUs and throughout. The device provides extensive testing capabilities that support all 5G NR deployments, including LTE, 5G NR FR1 and FR2 in NSA and SA modes, with easy setup and excellent performance for FDD and TDD. 5G test kits have market-leading performance and are capable of handling data rates of more than 10Gbps.

At THE WORLD Automobile Congress in Barcelona 2022, the company will demonstrate a C-V2X test solution that allows traffic scenarios made up of multiple simulated vehicles, and communication between them, to be tested in a precise and repeatable manner in laboratories and test sites. This allows C-V2X applications, such as emergency brake warnings, to verify correct operation in realistic and demanding traffic scenarios with minimal test equipment and the same test setup from lab to test site. The system includes an R&S CMW500 broadband radio communication tester, an R&S SMBV100R00B vector signal generator (laboratory only), an R&S BBA150 amplifier, and an R&S HF918 antenna with a tripod and adapter.

It can easily generate signals with output power up to 33 dBm, which is required for emergency vehicles in specific markets. At the test site, simulated and test vehicles are synchronized with GNSS satellite signals, enabling real-time verification of complex traffic scenarios using one rather than multiple test vehicles. In addition, the R&S TSMx6 network scanner enables on-site C-V2X PC5 network coverage measurements and ensures correct communication between roadside units and vehicles.

The company's GNSS simulator generates signals for all operational satellite navigation systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, SBAS and QZSS in L1, L2 and L5 bands. Simulation capabilities include correct modeling of the satellite orbit, including orbital errors and disturbances, as well as other typical error causes such as ionospheric and tropospheric effects and satellite clock errors. The R&S smbv100r00b GNSS simulator can provide a GNSS real-time interface option. This can be easily integrated into the HiL test system to provide GNSS signals to the DUT.
