Infineon Technologies added a new XENSIV TLE4971 series to its existing sensor portfolio for automotive applications. 3.3V device is the next generation TISON package integrated track, which provides four pre programmed current ranges, covering 25A, 50A, 75A and 120A. These devices provide accurate magnetic current sensing based on proprietary temperature and stress compensation, without negative effects of magnetic core caused by hysteresis or saturation effects. Due to the differential sensing principle, no core or shielding is required to prevent stray fields.

Pin Configuration

The small PG-TISON-8-5 package provides a very compact design for a variety of applications. When the minimum insertion resistance is 220 µ ohm and the inductance is lower than 1nH, the system loss will be reduced, thus obtaining higher efficiency and accuracy. In addition, the package allows high dynamic range, high surge current and market leading thermal performance. The device fully complies with AEC-Q100 Class I standard and is suitable for automotive applications, up to 125C, and provides improved output accuracy. All sensors are available in standard and ul certified versions to support industrial applications.

With its compact design and state-of-the-art sensing technology, the series is ideal for automotive use cases, including OBC, high-voltage auxiliary drives and charging applications. In addition, current sensors are also ideal for industrial applications, including DC chargers for electric vehicles, industrial drives, servo drives, and PV inverters. In addition, the sensor is ideal for applications with broadband bandgap solutions such as GaN and SiC. The integrated EEPROM enables users to customize the OCD value of the sensor and decouple the filter for different use cases.
