Maxim Integrated's MAX30001CVV+is an analog front-end (AFE) solution, including biopotential and bioimpedance (BioZ) for wearable applications. The solution is designed for fitness and clinical applications, and will extend battery life due to high performance and ultra-low power consumption. It is available in a 30 WLP and can operate in the temperature range of 0 ° C to+70 ° C.

MAX30001 can provide ECG waveform, heart rate and pacemaker edge detection. The device also includes a BioZ channel that can measure respiration. Biopotential and BioZ channels offer high input impedance, low noise, high CMRR, programmable gain, various low-pass and high pass filter options, and high-resolution analog-to-digital converters (ADC). The two channels also have ESD protection, EMI filtering, internal lead bias, DC lead disconnection detection, lead detection in standby mode, and extensive calibration voltage with built-in self-test. Soft power enhanced sequencing ensures that there are no large transient injection electrodes.

The biopotential channel is DC coupled, which can handle large electrode voltage offset, and has a fast recovery mode, which can quickly recover from excessive driving conditions such as defibrillation and electrosurgery. The bio impedance channel also includes an integrated programmable current driver, which works with ordinary electrodes and has the flexibility of measuring with two or four electrodes. It also has AC lead detection.
