TDK Corporation has developed a range of inductors based on industrial Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) 10 BASE-T1L applications of the IEEE 802.3cg standard. Suppression of asymmetric interference is critical to achieving interfertion-free data communication, and the new RCM70CGI-471 common-mode choke, with an inductance value of 470µH, rated voltage of 80 V, and rated current of 700 mA, is ideal for this type of application.

For some designs requiring electrically isolated PHY chips and connectors, the ICI70CGI series isolation inductors with a 1:1 transformer ratio are available. The family of components is available in inductance values of 1.0 mH and 2.2 mH and isolation voltage of 2250V DC.Powered by Data Line (PoDL) technology, the system uses only a pair of wires to connect actuators and sensors and transmit data and power simultaneously.

However, the system needs to use a special differential mode choke to suppress interference. The new PID family of components is available in different size versions to cover all six power levels (10 to 15) compliant with the IEEE 802.3cg standard, with saturation current ranges from 360 mA to 2100 mA. The PIS150H-471M, also a new type, uses a single choke structure design, which can effectively suppress noise and smooth current, and the maximum saturation current is 2300 mA.

TDK is a member of SPE's Industrial partner network and the first supplier of all PoDL inductors for the implementation of industrial SPEs, with or without power transmission. All components are RoHS-compliant and are designed to operate at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +125°C.
